| Queen scallops are mainly fished in the Irish Sea and off the South Coast of Scotland. They are caught by vessels using either the dredge or trawl net method of fishing. | ||||||

King scallops are caught all around the UK and from the Irish Sea from 1st November to 31st May only in order to conserve stocks. |

Crews range from 5-8 per vessel depending on the size of the boat. All newer vessels, including our own, The Kingfisher, King Explorer and King Challenger have ice plants and refrigeration facilities aboard, thus ensuring maximum freshness and quality. Vessels are at sea for a maximum of 48 hours. |
